'Support to Electoral Processes and Democracy - STEP Democracy'

New Strength for the STEP Democracy Programme

09 September, 2019

STEP Democracy is delighted to introduce our new partner organization Badeidha Moe Civil Society Organization (BDM).

Over the coming years, STEP’s newest partner will join Scholar Institute and Paññā Institute in delivering civic and voter education training in Kachin State and in some areas of Shan State.   Although their head office is based in Yangon, Myanmar they have widespread access through their field offices in Kachin State, northern and southern parts of Shan State and Mon State.

BadeiDha Moe has implemented environmental, human rights, peacebuilding, and land projects across areas of Myanmar.

'In order for Myanmar to have a strong democracy we need systematic and smart institutions.  To have the chance to work with International IDEA, through the STEP Democracy programme, is an incredible opportunity for collaboration for BadeiDha Moe.  We look forward to implementing our work with STEP’s national partners and International IDEA in order to support Myanmar’s democratic processes,' said Director of BadeiDha Moe Mr. Paing Zaw Zaw.

BadeiDha Moe has joined STEP just in time to support the International Day of Democracy celebrations that will be held in collaboration International IDEA, Paññā Institute and Scholar Institute on 15 September 2019.
